A DOLLY DAY AT THE ICE CREAM SHOPPE

IMG_3683

Now that we have our DIY Ice Cream Cart, the Little Miss just couldn’t resist setting up shoppe. 🙂

IMG_3709

Welcome to The Dolly Ice Cream Shoppe!

IMG_3684

Let me hand it over to our lovely ice cream server, Angelina!

Angelina: Hi guys! Let me give you a tour of the place!

IMG_3676

Over here is the ice cream freezer cart. We have a wide variety of flavours!

IMG_3695

That ice cream sure looks delicious!

IMG_3682

This is where the customers choose their ice cream flavours.

IMG_3681

We have popsicles and other frozen treats too.

IMG_3701

Next, is the ice cream counter. This is where people can sit to eat their ice cream.

IMG_3696

I must say, there are quite a few treats here!

IMG_3679

We’ve got banana splits, milkshakes, root beer floats, frozen yogurt, even rock candy!

(All ice cream treats above are Sophia brand)

IMG_3698

Don’t forget the ice cream cake pops! 🙂

IMG_3735

Over here are a few of the topping options that we offer. Chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and my personal favourite, gummy bears!

IMG_3707

This is the appliance counter. We have a blender for blending, a mixer for mixing, and a milkshake machine, well, for making milkshakes silly! 🙂

IMG_3699

These are my favourite! State of the art! 🙂

IMG_3688

Here is a closer look at the blender.

IMG_3690

It’s perfect for making smoothies!

IMG_3691

And this is the mixer.

IMG_3692

We use this to work the really stiff ice cream.

IMG_3693

It definitely comes in handy for mixing different flavours together.

IMG_3687

Last is the milkshake machine. It used to be a coffee maker, but it works wonders on milkshakes!

IMG_3678

Okay, over on this side, we have more tubs of ice cream!

IMG_3697

We usually store extra stock in the ice cream freezer, but this just came today, and has yet to be put away. There are also some soda pops to be put away.

(Ice cream tubs are lotion from the dollar store. The mini pop cans used to hold candy)

IMG_3703

On this side, we have another ice cream stand. ❤

IMG_3705

Lots of options, including ice cream sundaes!

IMG_3704

Ice cream goodness!

IMG_3706

We are fully stocked and open for business!

IMG_3708

Here comes a customer now! 🙂

IMG_3675

Angelina: Hello! What can I get for you today?

IMG_3689

Kit: I just can’t decide. Everything looks so good!

IMG_3684

Angelina: Might I suggest something from the ice cream freezer?

IMG_3677

Angelina: Or perhaps a milkshake? We do have the best milkshakes in town, you know.

IMG_3685

Kit: The choice is just too difficult!

IMG_3683

Angelina: Here, why don’t you take a look at our menu? How much were you looking to spend?

IMG_3734

Kit: Is this enough?

IMG_3733

Angelina: Oh my! Okay, one triple deluxe special, coming right up!!

IMG_3736

Angelina: (adds quietly) With extra gummy bears.

IMG_3702

The tip jar. 🙂

Here is a quick tutorial for how to make the ice cream counter.

IMG_3531

Take two sturdy rectangular boxes. I used a Newberry doll box and a SmartPop popcorn box. Using both hot glue and wood glue, secure them together in an L shape.

IMG_3642

I used pieces of scrap wood for the counter top. Secure them to the top of your boxes with wood glue. I adhered faux marble contact paper to the surface of my counter. I trimmed the counter in mini moulding painted metallic silver.

Next, I covered both boxes completely with dark wood coloured contact paper.

IMG_3643

Trim the bottom of your countertop with metallic scrapbook paper, and the top under the moulding with chrome washi tape.

And you’re done!

Have a crafty sort of day!

  1. This is sooooo cute! I love the mixer, blender and milkshake machine–and where did you find those containers that looks like ice cream cones? I’d like some mint chocolate chip please!

    1. Thank you! That’s the blender I found while I was out looking for salt shakers to make the one like you made! I got it at Walmart. The only problem with it according to my daughter is that it is pink. But the lid comes off, and the jug comes off, and you can actually blend with it manually with a lever on the side. 🙂 The mixer also mixes with a lever. I found it and the milkshake/coffee machine in the toy section while I was out thrifting. They are all perfectly sized for the dolls! The ice cream cones and the popsicles are bubbles containers that I found at the dollar store. I just rinsed them out. 🙂
