THINGS I LOVE THE MOST ABOUT FELICITY MERRIMAN

Hi guys! Today we are here to tell you some of the top things that we love the most about our Felicity! In honour of her re-release, we also decided that our Felicity was definitely in need of a new dress. 🙂

Like many of our dolls, we purchased Felicity on eBay. The first thing I noticed about her when she came was her lips. She wasn’t wearing any lipstick at all, but to me, it sort of made her look like she had no lips, so I decided to paint them on. As soon as I did that, she was so much prettier in my opinion.

Felicity Nan Merriman is the eldest of all the girls in the doll room. She is eleven years old. That means that she is in charge a lot of the time. I really love Felicity because she is so sweet and kind, especially with the younger girls, but she is still firm about studying, and doing devotions daily.

Here are some of the things that we love the most about our Felicity:

1.Hair

Felicity’s hair is absolutely beautiful. It is long, and soft, and easy to manage. She has a few tiny wispy pin curls at the front, but not as many as I would have liked. I think that at one time, someone clipped most of her curls off. 😦 Oh well, her hair is still very nice, one of my favourite doll’s hair.

2.Eyes

Felicity has the most striking green eyes that you’ve ever seen. In all of the photos of her on other blogs we’ve seen, her eyes are what stand out the most, and our Felicity is no different. Now I know, the re-released Felicity’s eyes aren’t the same, but I just love the older Felicity’s eyes the best. They are so mesmerizing.

3. Personality

Like I said before, Felicity is a very gentle and kind girl. She is especially patient with the younger girls like Molly and Angie. That’s no easy feat! She is loving and caring, just like a mother hen. She is often found brushing the other girl’s hair, tucking them in, and kissing them all goodnight. She is a natural maternal caregiver, and a real sweetheart.

We made this new colonial dress for our Felicity from the Betsy Ross Shop Dress pattern over at PixieFaire. This was a tricky dress pattern! I am so proud of myself for persevering with it, because the results are beautiful.

The Little Miss was flabbergasted when she saw it. She told me that the dress looked like it came from right out of the catalogue. I was pretty impressed with myself too. 🙂

Also, don’t tell anyone, but I made this dress from an old ratty pillowcase that I found at the thrift store for a dollar. LOL! Treasures to be had everywhere! ❤

Front placket pinch pleats, and neck ruffles! Yes please!! Love! ❤ 🙂

Our Felicity seems to love her new dress, and we are definitely happy that we have her.

Here’s to Felicity! We are so glad that AG has brought you back, and we can’t wait to see what new items you will get! 🙂

I hope that you enjoyed!

  1. Your Felicity is lovely! Miss Merriman was my first love, too – and when I got her I was thrilled beyond words.
Did you lift her hair up to see if the pincurls had been brushed back into the rest of her hair? (Forgive me if you have, because you already knew that was possible – I’m just being a grandma!) The pre-loved Felicity I got for my granddaughter seemed to be missing hers too, but I found them and was able to coax them back to the front, and re-curl them.
    Beautiful dress!

  2. Love reading your posts and can so relate to your bargain hunting mentality. The dress turned out perfectly. After such a fine introduction to your Felicity, I am thinking that we might need to add one to our group of friends too.

  3. Such a pretty doll! I have a newer , but not Beforever Felicity. She is pretty too, but cannot compare with the original Felicity!! Those eyes are captivating! You did a wonderful job on her dress!
