A DAY AT THE ANTIQUE SHOP

Welcome back to our blog! Today I have some really cool things to show you from our day out at the antique shop! The whole time all I could think was, I wish I had that in doll size! 😊

Anyway, I snapped some really fun pics to show you guys so I hope you enjoy!

I want to categorize these photos depending on which historical doll the item suits best because I think it will be a lot of fun.

Let’s start with Kirsten. I think these vintage snowshoes are perfect for her. So cool!

Next, I found what I assumed are vintage ice cream buckets for Addy.

A curry comb for Felicity’s horse.

Some vintage radios. These reminded me of Melody, Kit or Molly.

I also found some vintage cameras. This one looks identical to Nanea’s.

A couple of typewriters for Kit.

A cash register.

As well as what I think could pass as Kirsten’s carpet bag.

There were a ton of enamelware tea pots too. These reminded me of Maryellen in her airstream trailer.

I even found Julie’s ceramic Christmas tree! 😍

I actually found a ton of vintage stuff that reminded me of Julie.

Check out this space age record player!

I found some “Spaghetti Noodle Poodles” for Maryellen.

As well as Maryellen’s punch bowl!

Schooners and a telescope for Caroline.

As well as a basket for Caroline for her travels.

Soda pops for Maryellen. Some even still had the soda inside!

I also loved these dish sets for Maryellen.

And these glass hens on nests. So cute! 😍

And I found the perfect chairs for Samantha’s Ice Cream Parlour!

Along with this vintage ice cream tub.

I found some lamps that I thought were suitable for Samantha too.

I think this gorgeous record player is perfect for Rebecca.

Or this phonograph.

And this could pass as Rebecca’s settee.

Look at these adorable vintage hats! For Rebecca, Claudie or Melody maybe?

A few lanterns for Kit or Addy.

And these reminded me of Kit’s canning jars from her Produce and Preserves set.

As well as these vintage crates.

A darling dress for Melody.

And there were tons of kerosene lamps for Addy.

Here are some pink party sorbet bowls that I think are perfect for Samantha.

There were also some very pretty face powders and hand mirrors.

And a vintage perfume atomizer that I think would be perfect for either Rebecca or Samantha.

This Liquid Bluing would also go to Samantha as it has been used to whiten yellowed laundry since the 1880’s.

Next, was this beautiful writing desk that reminded me of Josefina. 🥰

A pretty romper for Molly.

There seemed to be a lot of different colourful pitcher sets too. Many of the historical dolls have outdoor picnic party sets that I thought these were perfect for.

This cute rooster set reminded me of Kit on the farm.

As well as these adorable sifters.

And other kitchen amenities. These remind me of Kit and Molly but also Nanea’s market.

These train lanterns remind me of the hoboes who ‘rode the rails’ and lived in Hooverville in Kit’s stories.

Here are some watering cans to go with Addy’s gardening supplies.

I even found Addy’s bird, Sunny. ☺️

The piece de resistance, you ask?

This amazing pinball machine for Julie! Wow! 😍

We also found this spectacular safe that reminded me of the Wild West, but we don’t have a historical doll from that time.

And of course I loved the old fashioned sewing machines.

What an incredible day!

I hope you enjoyed taking a walk with us back in time today! We had so much fun at the antique store!

Which piece was your favourite? Do you agree with our choices for each doll? We would love to hear your opinions!

  1. What an absolutely Fun day!! I would think some “shrinking powder” would have come in handy, except that the prices I could see were a bit daunting. We had a radio just like the ones you thought of as vintage for Molly’s time, but we had ours in the 50’s and 60’s. It was no doubt much older as my parents were very thrifty people. So many lovely old things to admire. Thank you for sharing your day and tour with us all.

    1. It was an amazing store!! So much to look at! And it is so fun to imagine that at one time all of these pieces were necessities bought and used regularly in a bustling household. I am so glad you enjoyed! 😊
