CREATIONS WITH LITTLE MISS ~ DIY SQUISHIES

Hello everyone, and welcome to another segment of Creations With Little Miss! Today the Little Miss wanted to show you the squishies that she made out of memory foam. Has this craze hit your house yet?

While out at a garage sale the other day, we found this:

Whoa, said the Little Miss. That’s a lot of squishy potential right there. ❤

(It’s also very comfy for lounging on. 🙂 )

So we bought it for $5 and hauled it home.

Where we proceeded to chop some of it off to make squishy shapes out of!

Here is where we just have to give a shout out to our most favourite DIY squishy YouTuber, the ultimate and most awesome NimC whose squishy creations and All Things Nim are so freaking cute that we can’t even handle it right now! Squee!! 😛

Anyway, we got right to work shaping our foam pieces. Nim C shows us how to make a Loaf of Bread Squishy so the Little Miss decided to make a bagel in the same way. 🙂

So squishy!!

And yet, it bounces right back no problem!

Little Miss also made an emoji squishy.

This one was painted with acrylic paint, however, we don’t recommend using acrylic paint on memory foam because once it is dry, it has some issues with cracking. It is much better to use the pastel chalk method like she did with the bagel. If you do paint your squishy, it is best to use just enough paint to lightly stain the surface of the foam rather than soaking it through with the paint.

Here is one that I made. Being a squishy is a piece of cake. 🙂

That’s all for now! There are probably more squishies to be made in our future, these little guys are kind of addictive, but at the moment, the Little Miss is reluctant to cut up any more of her new lounge bed. LOL!

Oh, one more thing. The Little Miss wanted to show you the new DIY Fidget Spinner that she made! Have you guys heard of these? They are for fidgeting with, and they help you to think, but the ones in store right now are…ahem…$30. What??!!

Anyway, we found a pretty great tutorial to make these for literally pennies apiece over at Red Ted Art. 🙂

Mesmerizing. LOL! 🙂

I hope that you enjoyed today’s Creations with Little Miss!!

Have a crafty kind of day, and be sure to leave a comment below!

  1. I heard if you want to paint squishies fluffy paint works better than acrylic because it doesn’t crack! I haven’t tried it out, but I hope this helps! ~Julia ❤

    1. Do you mean dimensional paint? The girl on Youtube was using fabric paint and we were going to try that next, but I’ve never heard it called fluffy paint before. Or do you mean puffy paint? Maybe those are all the same thing! 😛
