Hey guys!
Okay, okay, I know that it’s not time for another SEW DOLLY, but I just had to write a quick post to share the pretty dress that I made yesterday! I am so happy with the way that it turned out!
The Little Miss picked out the fabric from my pile, and requested that I make a fancy dress this time, so I did.
I have to admit, this one took some time. It was a bit tricky working with such slippery fabric, but I think I did a pretty good job. Perseverance pays off! šĀ
I really love the gemstone detail!
It goes perfectly with a tiara!
Once again, I used the Wrap Top Dress pattern from Pixie Faire. It is the same pattern that I used for Tenney’s polka dot party dress.
I think the pattern works really well for making fancy dresses too. I just lengthened the skirt about 4 inches.
Isn’t she pretty! ⤠Silver is such a regal colour on Tenney!
I know this is short, but I hope that you enjoyed!

The doll I bought to make Fiona is a Z without a mole–a number 64. Her eyes have the notches. Or you could look for a #30 (Alya) or #40 (Cassandra) if you don’t want the eye notches. I love the Jess mold, it is my favorite of all the molds–that’s why I have 4 LOL!!!

So pretty! I have a piece of silver satin I bought to make a skirt out of. How did you attach the gemstones?

I just used hot glue to attach the gems. The garment won’t ever be washed so it works to attach them this way.

I adore the pink one! Both gowns look great and I can see her wearing one to the Radio Disney Music Awards and the other to the CMAs. š

Cute! I saw up there that you said that Z is just a Jess with a mole but that isn’t the case! Z also has notched eyes like Ivy(which I think are adorable) Jess did not.

Huh, that’s good to know. I think that we are going to stick with Jess after all however because we’ve just learned that Z has not only the permanent underwear but that her body material is thinner than normal. I wonder if that is a thing now because AG is trying to cut costs. Anyway, one person worried that the zip tie around her neck might wear through the thin fabric over time. I think that we will get a used Jess with neck strings instead. My daughter is pretty adamant about the no permanent underwear thing, and I feel like I just can’t pay full price for a doll that isn’t up to the quality that we used to love so much about AG. I mean, what’s next? Barbie hair? Ugh. š¦

Yes. I’m worried about the new body material too. Well, there are some truly mes’ without notched eyes if you can’t find a Jess! Good luck!

That’s right. There was the #44 I think? We will just keep looking until we find that special one. š

Your email welcome! I love your Tenney a whole lot more than AG’S version.

We like our Tenney too! I don’t know, just something about the AG Tenney that didn’t really catch on for us. We really love Z Yang though. We are thinking of getting her, and renaming her Jess since she is technically a Jess doll with a mole. We will probably just erase her mole. We’ve wanted a Jess forever. š

I meant you’re welcome, not your email welcome. Lol! Stupid autocorrect.
