Hello all! We are onto our final bedroom in the mega dollhouse project!! After this, the only thing left is the doll bathroom/laundry room. š
This bedroom actually changed tenants. It was originally going to be Rebecca’s bedroom, but when Julie arrived, she just had to have it. So we’ve moved Rebecca into Grace’s bedroom that she used to share with Emily, and we are going to be creating a new space for Grace right above her bakery. It just seemed like the right thing to do, because well, JULIE!! š
I’ve wanted Julie for a while now, and considering that this room has her egg chair in it, it just made sense that she should have it. See how we made Julie’s egg chair here.
So even though this is Julie’s room, I like to think of it as the owl room. We found these cute little owl emery boards, (yup, emery boards for filing fingernails š ) at the dollar store, and we thought they would be perfectly cute as decor in the dollhouse. It goes to show that just about anything works for doll decorating. And we ⤠the dollar store. š
I made the doll bedding. I love all of the bright orange accents in this room! š
Right above the headboard of the bed, there is a little shelf. This is just a block that we found at the dollar store. I love it and it works perfectly as a shelf for our thrifty items. Like I said, I am loving this dollhouse project because all of our thrifty finds have found a place inside instead of all over my basement floor. š
The little plaque on the wall is a seriously cute find.
Awww. We ⤠Grandmas.
On the other side of the room there is a jewelry box dresser. I love this! I saw this in the thrift store, and I was floored! The details on the front are cut outs, and there is a little drawer in there. There is also a drawer on the bottom.
Anyway, it works perfectly as a dresser for Julie’s room and it was $5. Right?? š
We ⤠thrift shopping.
The lighthouse is a little brass thermometer. We managed to get the striped mirror off the wall in Saige and Angelina’s room to use in here instead. It matches ten times better, and we found a better mirror to use in their polka dot room.
Also, how cute is this little figurine. It reminds me more of Josefina, but since we don’t have a Josefina, we gave it to Julie. So cute! ā¤
Right beside the bed is this little nightstand. At one time, it was the box to a Melissa and Doug jewelry making kit. I just repurposed it into a doll night stand. š
There are all kinds of fun things on here. There’s another dollar store glow in the dark lamp, a pair of sunglasses, a cassette tape (this was a plastic charm from a bracelet, I just removed the jump ring loop), a MyLittlePony brush, a doll book, a heart shaped tin, a clock, a tiny house ornament, a doll canvas, and two doll bracelets that at one time were wine charms. Whew! That’s a lot of doll goodness! š
Right beside the night table is the egg chair that holds a giant panda pillow and some stuffies.
I also gave Julie this pretty little porcelain dolly. ā¤
Here she is now! Hi Julie! How are you liking your new room?
Oh, I’m just loving it, thank you! It’s so good to finally be home.Ā
It’s been ages since I’ve had a place of my very own.
Hey, do you want a tour of my new room?Ā
Come on, I’ll show you!
It’s really great! I have everything I need right here!Ā
And if I ever get bored, Rebecca and Emily are in the room right below me, and the historical dolls are right next door! šĀ
Okay, so you already know the basics: Bed, dresser, floor. But have you seen my egg chair? It’s AWESOME!
I can just sit here and daydream or write in my journal all day long! It’s so perfect for me! Seriously, this is my favourite thing in my whole room! Oh, except for my stuffed monkey.Ā
Her name is Rory. She’s fabulous. Her t-shirt even says so.Ā
And we are, you know. Fabulous. Both of us. š giggle.Ā
So, what do youĀ think of my room? I have to say, I love it!Ā
Thank you all for coming! Ā
Here’s a very smiley octopus named Donut. Isn’t he a cutie? I love Joey the walrus too. Ā
