OCTOBER’S SEW DOLLY!

Hi guys! Happy Thanksgiving!! šŸ™‚ Here in Canada, we are all stuffed full of turkey after celebrating a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends! We hope that you are all as well fed too! šŸ™‚

For October’s Sew Dolly, I am featuring a doll that my niece sent over to me for a much needed makeover.

Meet Lacey!

Lacey is an AG dolly that we gifted to my niece for Christmas a long while back. Poor Lacey. Her arms were starting to fall off from being loved so much, and her legs were also getting worse for wear.

After a wonderful day at the spa where we were able to restring all of her limbs, and deep condition her hair, we decided that Lacey definitely needed a brand new dress to travel back home in.

Tada! This dress features a cute little owl pattern in bright yellow, and a pale blue bodice with puff sleeves.

The binding on the sleeve matches the dress skirt.

The fabric that we used to make this dress was just pre-cut coordinating pieces from Walmart. I really like Walmart’s coordinating fabric bundles. They are the perfect size for dolly dresses which means not much leftovers, so you don’t end up paying for a bunch of fabric you might never use. šŸ™‚ Plus the colours match perfectly!

I love the sleeves for this pattern. They are puffy and cute!

Once we had her all re-stringed, she could stand much better!

We also gave her two pretty pigtails with pink ribbons. The back of the dress just closes with some soft velcro. The best soft velcro for making doll dresses I have found on Etsy.

Once she had a pretty dress to go home in, Lacey wanted to know where she should put the clothes that she came over wearing. Well, I decided it just wouldn’t do for her to not have a little tote to put her belongings in. I whipped one up right away.

Lacey was thrilled! šŸ™‚ All of her things fit nicely inside of her brand new tote bag!

And the best part was that it matched her new dress!

Dear Lacey,

We are so glad that you are feeling better! We hope that you are much happier now that your arms and legs are fixed. Thank you so much for coming over, and modelling your new dress for us! You were a great sport, and we had so much fun with you! ā¤
