Hello all! Today, we are making chicken noodle soup. For dolls! haha!
Yesterday, Grace was feeling under the weather, so Brianna made her some homemade chicken noodle soup. 🙂 ❤
Here is our Grace in bed with a cold. Poor thing. ❤
Luckily, her puppy, Molly hasn’t left her side.
Just look at that cute little puppy face! ❤
Brianna to the rescue!
Brianna has just arrived from the grocery store with all the fixings for her homemade chicken noodle soup.
Is that you Bree? Grace calls weakly from the bedroom still half asleep.
Yuppers! It’s me! And don’t you worry, I am going to fix you up good as new!
I hope so. Grace thinks to herself. Her throat is sore, so she reaches for her water.
I hope you like chicken soup! Brianna calls out.
She sets to work unpacking the groceries.
Time to get cooking!
What exactly is in your chicken soup? Grace asks her friend.
Nothing out of the ordinary! Brianna reassures her.
Just noodles, chicken broth, parsley…
…and sardines!
Sardines!
Grace jumps up wide awake.
Just kidding! Brianna laughs. She quickly puts back the can of sardines.
Maybe I will just stick to plain chicken soup, she thinks to herself.
Whew!
Grace picks up the paper to read while she waits for her soup.
When the soup is done, Brianna ladles it into bowls.
Soup’s ready! she calls.
She puts everything onto a tray.
Grace can smell the soup. She is getting hungry!
Bree, are you bringing the soup?
Coming! Brianna holds the tray steady.
Here you go!
Yay! Just what I needed. Grace smiles.
Hooray for good friends! Hooray for soup!
I’m feeling better already.
❤
I hope you enjoyed my photo story! Now I will share with you a bit about what went into making chicken soup! 🙂
Grace’s bedroom
I made all the bedding as well as the bed and the headboard. This bed is usually in the dollhouse, but I decided to pull it out to feature it today.
I love this bedding! I love the lace, and I love that the pillowcases are removable. I also love that this is a double wide bed.
Grocery Bag
You can find a tutorial to make this sweet little grocery bag here.
The food is from a plastic play food set except for the green onion and the soup noodle packet. I made those out of craft foam.
It turned out very cute!
Chicken Soup
The chicken soup in the bowls is made out of craft foam and packing tape.
Cut strips of craft foam.
Cut the strips into small pieces. Sweep into a pile.
Stick packing tape on top of the pile. Wrap the soup pieces in tape like a package.
Cut to the size of your bowl. If the sides of the soup split apart when you cut it, add thin strips of tape all the way around to seal it back up again.
Place soup in bowl and feed to sickly person. 🙂
The chicken soup noodle packet is made in the same way, just don’t cut it round.
The Kitchen
The hutch I built myself, while the cabinets and stove combo are from our dollhouse.
To make a little soup pot just take a tin can and add some handles.
Be sure to use a can opener that leaves a dull edge.
Cut strips of black craft foam.
Glue strips to the sides, and to the top of the lid.
And you’re done! What a sweet little pot, and a great way to recycle! ❤
We found these mini ramekins at the dollar store. They make cute soup bowls, but you can also make your own!
To make bowls, we used cherry tomato packaging.
Just cut off the bottom.
Trim the edges to make perfect little soup bowls!
And there you have it! All the makings for chicken soup!
Enjoy! ❤
Very cute and resourceful!
