Hi guys! Merry Christmas! We made it! And since it is now Christmas, our DIY Doll Christmas crafting challenge has come to an end.
But don’t worry! We have one final crafting project to tackle!
As it is Christmas Day, most of us are going to be having a holiday meal tonight, myself included. I have a giant ham in the oven as we speak.
But one of my favourite parts of Christmas is walking into the dining room before we eat, and seeing the gorgeous sparkling table all decked out and inviting for the upcoming feast.
So with that being said, you just know that we need the same for our dolls.
Let’s make a doll Christmas tablescape!
The first thing you need obviously is a large doll banquet table and chairs.
Awhile back, I found a plant stand that works perfectly as a doll dining table. Then I built some simple dining chairs to go with it.

Next, you will need some doll dinnerware.

We found this set at a thrift store awhile back. It has flowers on it, but those will be covered up.
Now you have to decide if you want a tablecloth. We opted to showcase the wooden table instead.
You can make a table runner out of any fabric. I chose to make one from this old shirt.

I just cut the bottom off and trimmed off one of the seams. Then I hemmed all the edges and put it on my table.
Now it is time to decorate your table! I had these supplies on hand but you can use anything you want.

Foam eggs and pinecones

Beads

Dollar store craft containers
You will also need
Silver Glitter
Silver/red/green paint
Paintbrush/Paint sponge
White glue/hotglue
Needle/thread
Small bits of greenery
Paperclip
Ribbon
Twine
First, I painted the pinecones and eggs silver.

Then I painted some of the beads red. I just stirred them in a bowl of paint and then poured them out on parchment paper to dry.

I didn’t want clumps of beads so I separated them on the parchment.

Once my red beads were dry, I filled four of my dollar store canisters.

Then I hot glued a ribbon around the top of the jars.

I added a tiny sprig of greenery too.

So cute! Add them to your table!
Once the silver eggs were dry, I painted the tops with white glue and rolled them in silver glitter. Put them aside to dry.

Next, I took some more beads and needle/thread and made a garland.

Then I used a sponge and painted the garland white.

While that dried, I took my silver pinecones and brushed them with white glue.

Then I sprinkled silver glitter on top.

Pretty! You can add them to your table!
Now take a piece of twine and tie a knot. Then fray the ends.

Cut the knot off.

Make two and hot glue them to either end of your bead garland.

Trim the frayed part and add the garland to your table!
Now we will finish with the eggs, except they are not eggs! We are going to add stems to the top so that they will become silver glitter pears.
I actually have doll pears, but I wanted to keep them as is. I have so many of these foam easter eggs, I figured I could spare a few.
Bend the paperclip a little. I just used a pair of needle tip jewelry pliers to round mine around my finger.

Ignore my very painted fingers. 😂

Cut the paperclip and hot glue it into the top of the foam pear. Paint the stem silver.

Now you can add all your silver glitter pears to your table!
Okay! Now it is time for our piece de resistance, the tapered candles!
I am so excited about these! I am just obsessed with modern tapered candles. They are so lovely, and they add wow factor to any table. 😊 So let’s make some in doll size!
What you need
Paper
Pencils to cut
White glue/Hot glue
Bamboo skewers
Scissors/Exacto blade
White/black paint
Old small sized dried out paint bottles
There are two ways to make your candles. The first way is to measure and cut the bamboo skewers into 3” pieces.

Then cut 3” strips of paper.

Glue the bamboo skewer to the edge of the strip of paper.

Then start rolling to the end of the paper strip adding glue as you roll.

Paint your tapered candle white.

Once I was finished doing this I realized a second way to make the candles. Cut 3” pieces of pencil and paint them white for pretty much the exact same effect. This way would be much easier, I know. Oh well, live and learn. 🤦🏻♀️😂

Now cut 0.5” strips of paper to wrap around the bottom edge of the candle.

We used three 0.5” by 11” strips for each candle.

Now cut three different lengths of the bamboo skewer.

Hot glue them to the bottom of your candles. Be sure they are centred and straight or your candles will lean.

Add the candle wicks. Cut tiny pieces of paperclip.

Hot glue the wicks to the tops of your candles. Paint the wicks white.

Next, cut the bottom disc from your dried out paint bottles leaving a small edge.

Hot glue the plastic disc to the bottom of the candlestick. Again, be sure it is centred and straight.

Paint the candleholder. I chose a shiny black paint, but you can do whatever colour you want. And you are done! Add them to your table!
We also made little Christmas trees in red and white striped pots for our place settings.

We used the leftover lids from the dollar store containers. We wrapped them in striped scrapbook paper, added a tiny sprig of greenery and punched stars for the top.

Our napkins are the same striped scrapbook paper and our charger plates are also made of scrapbook paper. So easy!

And you are done!

Here are some close ups!
