Hi guys!! I am so excited to be writing on the blog again!
There was a bit of a hiatus where I was only posting on Instagram @fim_studios whenever I could as that was all I could manage with my injury. Well now I am here to announce that I am nearly back to life as normal which is to say that I am out of the woods, back to work, back to writing my books, and back to my world of doll crafting!
Some things have changed significantly. One major change has been that my teen daughter has moved out of her childhood room and into the new basement suite that I created for her.
That means that I have been busy setting up a new doll space in her old room. I have been very busy gathering all of the doll items out of the basement and organizing them in the new space. I am also planning to set up my doll studio in that room. My sewing/crafting room also needs a bit of an overhaul, but that will be easier once the new space is finished.
The second major change that most of you who follow me on Instagram know is that the mega dollhouse is no more.
But this is not sad news! This past summer, I converted the dollhouse into a fantastic set of bookshelves for my daughter who loves to read and collects books. Then I kept one doll room just for me. That room will be going in my new doll studio where I can change it out whenever I choose to whatever I choose!
Having such a large dollhouse for play was amazing, but it takes up a lot of space, (20ft!) especially when my daughter grew out of playing with her dolls. Having only one interchangeable doll room is far more efficient for me.
Of course, if you would like to check out the mega dollhouse in all of its former glory, you can still find out all about it right here on the BLOG.
If you would like to see the 20ft of beautiful bookshelves that the dollhouse has become be sure to come follow me on Instagram @fim_studios
Another major change in our doll world happened due to a combination of being cooped up in the house with an injury as well as the pandemic.
We have acquired 49 American Girl dolls. Ack!! This is a huge number compared to the two we started out with back when we began this blog. It is largely due to buying secondhand from a fabulous bunch of sellers on the Facebook Canadian buy/sell site. I think it is safe to say that we are fully hooked now. Lol!
However, with so many new additions, there has to be a new meet the dolls post in our future. We have also downsized our other brands of dolls significantly which means some friends have unfortunately had to leave us. I will be sure to catch you up on all of those details very soon.
So 49 dolls…
This definitely begs the question, who will be the big 5-0? It is something I have been waffling back and forth on for quite some time. With the new release of Girl of the Year Lila I thought perhaps this is the one, but then I hesitated and now I am not sure. I hesitated on others as well; Evette, TM12, TM83, Joss, Courtney. Those were just a few who were on my watch out for list.
There are also a couple of dolls I may end up parting with as I haven’t bonded with them as much as I would like and that would bring our number down some so reaching that magical 50 mark could just be irrelevant. Right now I am just enjoying reconnecting with all my dolls and sorting through all of the memories we made together.
In other life news, I am back to work as a substitute teacher. For the time being, that is the teaching commitment level that my injury will allow. But I am so glad to be back working around people again. 😊
I am also writing again. During the pandemic, I finished writing the first book in my new series (first draft titled Winged, final cut titled Aether Sky) and I am halfway through writing the sequel.
I adore this story even if it sometimes feels like it is taking everything I have to write it. You can find the new book on Amazon.

You can also check out the trilogy I have written. 😊

A little shameless self promotion right there. 😊
Well I should go, but I will be back to regular posting now and it is so good to be back. I just wanted to come here to give a heads up and to share some news.
I won’t go into all the other things, the bad times, the sad times, the struggle, those are the things that I want to let go of because it is over now, and everything is starting to look up. Moving forward we are in a more positive space, and that is all that matters.
What I will say is, God is good, and we are so thankful. I will never forget the time when I was broken, and He picked me up and put me back together again. It has been a truly life changing experience in so many ways. I am not even the same person that I was five years ago. The impact this has had on our lives has been so incredibly significant. It just goes to show, nothing lasts forever. Everything can change in an instant, and therefore we must never take anything in life for granted. Believe me, if I was lacking in my faith in God before, I am more than rock solid now.

The bottom line is, I will never forget this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for sticking it out with me, either here or on Instagram. I am so grateful and eternally blessed to have this community of wonderful friends to share my life with, and my love of dolls.
❤️❤️❤️

Yay!
I’m happy for you! This is great news!
We seem to move in cycles. I’m currently trying to get back in the swing of things with the Tea Time crew.

Thank you so much! I will pray for your daughter! I relate so much to being fully disabled and I feel extremely blessed to be finally healing to a point where I can live and feel somewhat normal again. Some days are harder than others and I do tend to take on too much sometimes, so I have to remind myself that it is okay to take a break or let others help, but I am so glad to be back doing what I love. God is so good. 😊❤️

I’m so happy to read you again, and with such a positive tone that it’s even more pleasant.
Bravo for everything: for your return, for the way in which you recovered from such bad times, for the installation of your daughter in her own little domain in the basement, for the installation of your new domain in her ex-room, for dolls and sewing, and for your new novel.
Have a nice day 🙂
