Hello everybody! We have been bad at managing our time lately! I don’t know if it’s just the first month back in the school routine, or what, but we apologize! Can you ever forgive us? š
Today we are showcasing our version of Melody’s Block Party Set!
We are in love with Melody, but we are pretty packed in the doll’s house right now! I just can’t see us buying another doll for a while. š¦
However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still craft up some really cute Melody stuff! š
We actually hold an Annual Block Party right here in our neighbourhood, so it was a no brainer that we would want to craft this set for the dolls. ā¤
The first thing that we wanted to recreate from Melody’s block party was the bingo game. We didn’t really care for the bingo ball dispenser, but the bingo cards and chips are too adorable!
We just went online, typed in bingo card, and chose a design that we liked. Then we printed them onto blue card stock, and cut them out.
The chips were made with a hole punch. We used the cardboard from a Ritz cracker box because it was already red. We glued two hole punches together so that both sides of the chips were red.
Next, we recreated the pies. We made our pies using tartlet cups and tan felt. First, cut out a piece of tan felt to line the inside of the tart cup. Hot glue it inside, and trim the edges to fit.
Half fill the pie crust with cotton batting. Pour a layer of tacky glue over the cotton. Pour red or blue translucent beads on top.
Next, cut 6 thin strips of tan felt. Glue the first two strips onto the top of the pie in an X shape. Weave the last 4 strips into a square. Glue the square on top of the X.
These little pies are so cute!
We made the hot dogs as well as the ketchup and mustard back when we made Maryellen’s Seaside Diner.Ā
The pop cans are candy containers, and the watermelon slices are table cloth weights from the dollar store.
We also have the Sophia brand lemonade set that my daughter decided to bring out to use with this set, but that was after we had taken all of the pictures. š
Here are Caroline and Brianna playing a game of Bingo, and eating hot dogs at the Block Party!
Under the “N” 52
I think Caroline is winning.
Brianna: How many more do you have, Caroline?
Caroline: Two more to Bingo!
Under the “O” 74
Caroline: One more to go!
Brianna: I give up! I haven’t even gotten one yet!
Caroline: Bingo! Bingo! Bingo! I win!
Brianna: Aw, nuts! Oh well, what do you want to do now?
Caroline: How about Cat’s Cradle?
Caroline: You just take the string from me.
Brianna: Okay.
Brianna: This looks kinda tricky.
Caroline: All you have to do is grab the top strings, and pull it over the other strings.
Brianna: Like this?
Caroline:Ā (sighs)Ā Well, sort of.
Brianna: Wanna watch me hula hoop instead?
Brianna: I just got this new hoop yesterday.
Brianna:Ā Tada! I’m not actually very good yet.
Brianna: But Sugar is getting really good! Watch this!
Good girl!! ⤠š
Yay! Go Sugar!
She is so cute!! ā¤
Brianna: Do you want to try, Caroline?
Caroline:Ā No thanks, I’m still trying to figure out the Cat’s Cradle.
Brianna: I’m pretty sure you need at least two people for that.
Caroline: Nope, I’m sure I’ve almost got it.
Brianna: Okay, whatever you say. Come on, Sugar!
Good puppy! š

Caroline: Okay, I give up. This is impossible.
Caroline: Want to play more Bingo?
Caroline: I’m good at playing Bingo.

Thank you! It’s not my original design. I think I used a mix of ideas from all over. š

This was so cool. What a great idea to make your own bingo game. And the food looks so good. I like the hula hoop too. Where did you get the table and chairs?
