DIY DOLL SALON CADDY

IMG_1183

Hello all! Today we are going to be making a doll salon caddy, and setting up our doll salon!

To make a doll salon caddy you are going to need a large coffee tin and a small cookie tin to fit on top.

IMG_1167

Clean your coffee tin. Then remove the label and the lid, before wrapping it in brightly coloured paper. I used heavy card stock.

IMG_1160

Next use hot glue to attach two strips of paper. Only glue on the one side for now. These are going to be your ‘drawers’.

IMG_1162

Paint or colour four mini craft sticks.

IMG_1161

Glue the craft sticks to both ends of your ‘drawers’

IMG_1166

Next add velcro. Now you can open and close your ‘drawers.

IMG_1163

Take your cookie tin, and cover it with coordinating paper. I used some chrome coloured washi tape for the edge of the lid.

IMG_1168

Now use hot glue or packing tape to attach the cookie tin to the top of the coffee tin.

Glue a rectangle of paper for a drawer, and use beads for drawer pulls.

IMG_1192

Now there is lots of storage space in the top of the caddy!

Take an exacto knife and cut a rectangular hole beneath the bottom drawer for even more storage underneath.

**Parental supervision is required.

IMG_1193

Take the rectangular piece that you cut from the bottom and glue it in place beneath the top drawer flap.

Now find some pictures in magazines or print some pictures from online and glue them into place.

Go ahead and fill your little salon caddy up with whatever you like! šŸ™‚

The top comes off for extra storage.

IMG_1191

Flip the lid over and you have a little tray!

IMG_1194

Or take the tray off and use it separately.

Okay, time to visit the salon! ā¤

Welcome to The Crafty Hair Salon!

IMG_1170

This is the MyLife salon chair. We really like it. It is an inexpensive alternative to the AG version.

IMG_1173

We got this little chest of drawers from the dollar store. The accessories on top are from the Our Generation bathtub set.

IMG_1174

I laminated the top of the caddy so it would be more durable. I just used a layer of packing tape for this.

Some of these accessories are from the dollar store, while others are Our Generation or MyLifeAs

IMG_1172

The little ruffled vanity is a craft we made a few years ago. It is still going strong!

IMG_1201

And yes, it is a dishwasher tab bucket underneath. LOL šŸ™‚ It is great for storage though!

IMG_1175

These are some more dollar store finds. Stylist clips, curlers and makeup brushes. We ā¤ the dollar store. šŸ™‚

Here are some pics of Abby and Summer having a day at the salon!

IMG_1182

Summer looks like she’s in spa heaven! ā¤

IMG_1179

Abby came to get her hair done. I sewed her dress from one of my daughter’s shirts that she grew out of. šŸ™‚

IMG_1180

Here are some other dresses that I upcycled from similar shirts. I love that I was able to reuse the adorable embroidery.

IMG_1185

IMG_1186

I just love our Abby doll! I especially love her red hair and her teal eyes!

IMG_1189

Her eyes are seriously teal. This picture doesn’t even do her justice. She is so gorgeous. ā¤

IMG_1187

Abby came to the salon to get her hair done, so we did it up in this fabulous spiky bun.

IMG_1188

Just look at those highlights!

IMG_1197

Here is Summer, all rested up from her spa visit.

IMG_1176

We just ā¤ a dolly day atĀ the salon!!

IMG_1178

Come back soon!

IMG_1196

Ā Happy customers!

I hope you enjoyed visiting the doll salon with us today!

    1. Thanks! I tend to craft up everything in the house too! My husband always has to tell me, this isn’t for your craft projects. Once he bought a toilet hose so he could fix the toilet. Next thing he knew, I had crafted it up into the Lea’s Rainforest house as an outdoor shower! He was like, where did that hose go? I was like, no idea. LOL!
