Hi all! I am so excited for this next segment in our series of DIY Doll Christmas decor!

We added letters to spell JOY to ours, but you can do whatever you like. I think these would also be cute with little black windows painted on the front or you could print out an image of a storefront to glue on and make them look like little shops.

Either way, these are too dang cute!

What You Need

Small box (we used a bar soap box but any very small box would work)

White paint

Scrapbook paper

Sticker letters (optional)

Hot glue/scissors

Ruler/pen

Mark out and cut the top from your box.

Our cut box measures 1” by 1.5” by 1.5”

Using a ruler, draw the house shape on your box. I am making three little houses of different sizes, so I drew two houses on one side of my box, and one house on the leftover piece.

If you have a box that is already this size, it will be easier as you won’t have to cut out a separate back piece.

Cut your houses out. This is what they should look like at this point.

Next, trace the front of your house to make the back piece.

Cut it out and hot glue it to the back of the house.

Now we will make the roof. Cut a strip of scrapbook paper that is as wide as the roof opening. Do not worry about the length just yet as we will simply trim it off later.

Hot glue the strip to the roof.

Fold the strip of paper to create a crease for the roof peak.

Next, hot glue the other side of the roof in place.

Trim the excess paper.

Decorate your little houses however you like.

If you want to paint them a different colour you can. There was a bit of printing on ours from the soap box label so we just touched them up with some white paint, but you could paint them any colour you want.

You could even make a mini gingerbread house. How cute would that be!

Make as many as you like in whatever sizes you want!

We added the letters JOY to ours but they are removable so we can change them up in the future if we want.

These would be so cute on your doll’s fireplace mantle!
