DIY SCHOOL SUPPLIES!

Hi guys! We are full blown back into the swing of things homeschool style, and today we just wanted to show you all of the cool new DIY school supplies that we made! YouTube is just packed full of videos of ideas on how to DIY all kinds of school supplies so we have been completely distracted lately with all the fun things to make and do!

On top of all of that, the Little Miss received a new school desk this year and so she was so excited to be able to assemble it all by herself. We are looking forward to a way better year this year than we had last year, and we hope that things continue to look up.

So here we go! All of the DIY school supplies deliciousness that you can handle!

First up is pencil holders! There are so many different DIY’s you can make to hold everything from pencils and pens to markers and sharpies. We just chose a few that we really liked. We also created a few of our own original designs.

Watermelon and Pineapple. These are just paper wrapped around tin cans, but they are so cute!

Llamas are just so cute right now! We had this old tin so we just wrapped it in pink paper and found a llama picture to print off. Then we added the pom poms.

Too cute!

Anything kawaii cute is also so much fun! We chose to make this adorable little fox pen holder.

He even has a tail! 🙂

Sturdy cardboard tubes are great for recycling into pencil holders! Again these are just wrapped in paper but how cute is this cactus family?! ❤

Here is another very simple concept. Tin cans wrapped in bling. They look very minimal but they are really cute once you add the fun accessories.

❤ ❤ ❤

This double sided cupcake pen holder is one of my favourites. We just used sturdy cardboard to make two cupcakes. Then we hot glued some craft foam for the icing, and added some bling.

This holder has two compartments inside. 🙂

Here is another cardboard tube pencil holder. We just love recycling! We also made the panda and the pom pom pencil toppers.

Last we used more cardboard tubes to create this adorable cloud coloured pen holder.

It’s so cute and we just love that it holds a rainbow of colour!

Next up is accessories! We already had a TON of pens, pencils, markers etc. but we wanted to make a few extras just for fun!

Washi tape pencils!

We have so much washi tape so it was nice to find a use for some of it. We glued pom poms with little bows and gems on top too. I don’t recommend wrapping your pencil in fuzzy string like the blue one in the photo above because then it really can’t be sharpened very well. I learned this after the fact. A pen would have been better to wrap in string. Oh well. Live and learn. LOL!

Paper Clips!

We love these fancy foil mermaid tail clips! We had some metallic plastic sheet that we just cut two and glued them together. Then add a gem for bling! ❤

Here are some ribbon clips we made as well. These are great to use as bookmarks too.We think these pom pom clips are so cute. The Little Miss bought some other ones, but we thought that they were so adorable that we decided to make more.   Little books!! These are my favourite clips by far. We made these with craft foam and just painted the faces on.

Mobile phone holder!I had been needing one of these for a long time so I actually was pretty pleased to make this. It holds the phone no problem at all. Plus, it’s so cute!! ❤

Tape dispenserWe made this cute tape dispenser from a watch gift box. We just added a small piece of straw inside and a piece from the sharp edge of an aluminum foil box. Then we just used scrapbook paper and washi tape to decorate. The straw that holds the tape inside is removable so we can change out the tape when it is empty. Perfect! 🙂

Notebooks and Notebook covers!

How cute is this little rainbow notebook! We cut the notebook down to size. Then we made the cover from cardboard and craft foam. We added bling to the front and some craft foam eyes and a face. I had a pretty boring and plain planning book so I had to jazz it up a bit.

Teacher planner. I went a little overboard on the glitter. LOL!

The Little Miss decided to decorate her notebook too. 🙂

Last is organizers! I needed a teacher station and the Little Miss needed some drawer dividers for her new desk.

HomeSchool Teacher Station

Oh my goodness how cute is this? I just made it using a cereal box. The drawers are other boxes that we had in our recycling.

There are drawers on the sides too. This thing holds everything I need for a year of teaching! 🙂

I made a little place for a notebook too. I made the notebook cover. ❤

Lots of space for supplies!

I am very happy with this little organizer.

And here are the drawer organizers that the Little Miss made for her desk.

To me this is perfection. There is a place for everything!

The other drawer still has some room to grow. 🙂

Finally, here are some pics of our homeschool!

A new desk for the Little Miss! The desk fits all her supplies! She can see the whiteboard from where she sits. The board is just a decal on our basement door.

Homeschool closet!

I like these banker boxes to keep each subject separate.

And that’s the tour! I hope you enjoyed making DIY school supplies with us and having a tour of our homeschool today!

Don’t forget about the dolls! They need to have some new school supplies too!

Also, check out our doll classroom. We will be creating a room box for this real soon. It’s already built. It just needs a coat of paint. 🙂
