Hi everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year! This year, I only had one little girl to sew up some dolly magic for. The rest of the girls are growing older, and are more interested in their electronics. Sigh. Isn’t that how it goes? 

Anyway, I still had lots of fun creating a modern wardrobe for my niece’s dolls, and I got to try out some new patterns that I had never used before. Here’s a look at everything that I made!

Of course, t-shirts and long sleeved shirts are a must for every modern girl’s wardrobe. I also used the Piccadilly Sweater pattern by Liberty Jane to make some cute lace embellished sweat shirts. This was my second attempt at making these, so the Little Miss has the same ones.

I tried to stay away from making more leggings, because I had already made the girls a ton of them last Christmas. Instead, I tried out the Roebuck Bay Skirt pattern by Liberty Jane. I am so happy with the results! 

 

I really like the look of the exposed waistband, and I even did a bit of experimenting with two tiers on the black polka dot one. I think these little skirts are right on target with what girls are wearing today. The Little Miss had quite a few skirts in this style when she was younger. 

Next, I had to try out the Denim Jacket pattern by Liberty Jane. I’ve had this pattern forever, I just never got around to making it. For my first time using this pattern, I am very impressed at how well it turned out. Denim jackets are quite popular these days, so this pattern was a must. I will probably make another one to keep. 🙂 One precaution with this pattern is to not use stiff, or thick denim. I used an old pair of my daughter’s thin jeggings, and the coat turned out perfectly. I also made a very sparkly tunic dress from an old t-shirt. So cute! 

Here’s a few more upcycles I made. I tend to upcycle rather than buy new fabric as it is way cheaper, and the fabric is better quality for your money. I adore the Off the Shoulder Stella Top by Made4Mermaids.

Last, I made this pair of pajamas from a pair that my daughter used to wear. I love the pineapples! The yellow top can also be worn with the pineapple shorts or as a separate clothing item. I used a pattern by All Dolled up called Whimsy. Unfortunately, that pattern is no longer available.Now here is a look at our models! I was so pleased at how I managed to get everything to sort of match. I started out just making a bunch of separate pieces, so I didn’t expect to actually get outfit shots. Also, I have been experimenting with different photo lighting lately, so please bear with me! I am not a professional photographer by any means. LOL!

I love this dress ensemble. I made the infinity scarf at the last minute to go with it. 🙂 If you are wondering who the gorgeous red head is in all of these photos, that’s Tahlia. She came to us last Christmas. She is a TM #61 and we just adore her! 

  And this of course is our Jess. I love her hair this way! ❤

The length of these skirts is perfect, I think. I’m not a fan of super short skirts on the dolls.

This little yellow shirt was an upcycle from a shirt that I used to own. Recycle! 🙂 

 

Of course, leggings go well with everything! 🙂 Okay, this outfit reminds me of pajamas, but I love this top pattern. It is the Baseball Tee by Liberty Jane.

Whew! That was a whole lot of pictures for a whole lot of sewing adventures! I have been taking a break from the sewing machine in the new year because we are focusing on renovating the dollhouse. More on that later. We have also been making a whole bunch of doll food, so I will be posting about that too!
