DIY DOLL CASH REGISTER

Hi guys! We are back with the first tutorial for you to make for your DIY Nanea’s Family Market! We’ve had so much fun crafting this market, and filling it with all kinds of fun stuff! We don’t have Nanea, but I’m sure that if we did, she would love shopping at our family market! 🙂

Today we are going to make a cash register for our dolls! This little cash register is perfect to use in Nanea’s market or you can use it just for fun on its own. 🙂

What you will need:

Scotch tape box

Card stock paper

Hot glue

Silver acrylic craft paint

Tiny buttons **

**Note: We just used tiny buttons that we had on hand. If you don’t have buttons, I thought maybe the tops of tiny brad fasteners would work. You can easily snip the winged backs off of them.)

Okay, let’s begin!

Here is the scotch tape box we will be using. Take some sturdy card stock paper, and cut and measure a long strip to wrap around your box. Hot glue into place. Be sure to follow the shape of the box. Keep wrapping and gluing until the box is fully covered, front to back, and top to bottom. Next, it’s time to cover the sides. Trace the side pieces onto some card stock paper. Then cut them out, and hot glue them in place. All it needs now is a coat of paint! We used two coats of silver acrylic paint for ours. Once your cash register is all painted, it’s time to add the keys.

We used tiny buttons, but like I mentioned before, anything will do. Brad fasteners, tiny scrapbook embellishments, even tiny gel stickers. Another option is to paint the keys on by hand. You could even use puffy paint to make them more 3D looking.

Here is our finished product! We even used a piece of foam core board to make a cash drawer at the bottom. We just hot glued it on there and painted it silver to match. We used a sharpie marker to draw the price window as well, but you can do whatever you like. 🙂 We also found this little knob to glue on the side. We love how this little cash register turned out! We’ve been wanting a cash register for the dolls for what seems like forever, and this one is the perfect size! It’s perfect for Nanea’s family market, but I can see it getting tons of future use as well. 🙂

I hope that you enjoyed our tutorial today! Stay tuned for more fun as we continue exploring the adorable world of Nanea! Have a crafty kind of day!! 🙂

    1. I usually have one of these little boxes hanging around. I’m always staring at them trying to find new uses for them. lol 🙂 I think they might make a cute doll magazine holder too, but I am definitely going to try to make one into a typewriter next. ❤ I love recycling. 🙂
