Hi there! Today we are looking at our 70’s girl, Julie Theresa Albright!

I wanted Julie. Not as much as I had wanted Kit, but I still wanted her. The Little Miss wanted Lea Clark. Another doll dilemma. Of course, the Little Miss won, so the idea of Julie sort of just faded into the background for a while.

But then one day, there she was! There was our Julie! She was on eBay, and she was smiling out at me with her head at a bit of a crookedy tilt, and bright pink highlighter on her cheeks. Love! ❤

That’s our Julie! I immediately thought to myself.

She turned out to be the least amount of money that we have ever paid for an AG doll. You see, here in Canada, the exchange rate is atrocious, and the shipping rates are even worse. Usually if it’s a doll that I want, I tend to find a fixer upper at the cheapest cost I can.

When she came, her head was slightly tilted just like I said. There was also something on her cheeks. I thought that it was highlighter at first, but I was wrong. I took a bit of rubbing alcohol to it, and it came right off. Just like that! I tried to fix her head, but nothing I did would work.

Oh well, Julie is tilted for life, I thought. Turns out, we like her that way. 🙂

Here are the things that we love the most about Julie:

1.Hair.

Julie has the most gorgeous hair of all of the dolls. It is long, silky and soft. It’s like angel hair. It is so incredibly beautiful. Our Julie came without her braid, but I like her hair better that way.

2.Tilted head.

What began as a conundrum soon became a quirky personality trait. I LOVE that our Julie has a bit of a tilted head! In photos, she always looks a little bit cheeky. I think that Julie does it on purpose honestly, as if it’s her signature pose. Or maybe she just knows something that we don’t know. 😉  

3. That certain something.

I don’t know how to explain it, but there is something about Julie that makes your breath catch every time you see her. It’s something that not even one of the other dolls has. I mean, she is so obviously different from every single one of the other dolls, but I don’t think that’s it. It’s not just one thing, it’s a whole lot of everything about her. She’s special somehow. I don’t know. I can’t put my finger on it, but every time I see her, I have to just stop, and smile. She has also become a favourite of the Little Miss.

4. Her clothing era

Who doesn’t love 1970’s clothes?! I mean, bellbottoms and mod dresses! Squee! That’s just fun all around! I have yet to sew a dress for Julie, I am still looking for the perfect pattern, but I am looking forward to it. I have the perfect fabric for it just waiting. 🙂

For now she wears a lot of skirts and vests.

Julie is our sportiest girl. 🙂

She can often be found playing basketball, or riding her scooter.

I dressed Julie in some pretty modern looking clothes here. I was trying to avoid typical sporty outfits. I could have just dressed her up in yoga pants and sweat shirts, but I wanted to show more of her pretty side.

The only thing that I find tricky about Julie is trying to get her dressed with her long hair. It’s very easy to get it caught in Velcro, and I don’t want to damage it because I feel that it would probably show the most, being that it is so straight and smooth.

She’s very cute. 🙂

Julie has such a sweet face. Our Julie has a tiny mark beneath her bottom lip that I was unable to remove as well. I think it gives her character. 🙂

My mom made a cute backpack that we think suits Julie very well. ❤

My mom also made some cute little pets for the dolls.

The baby guinea pig is adorable! 🙂

PS. I know that we have been posting less lately. Much of the reason is that I am trying to finish up the final novel in my trilogy series.
