MEET LEENA NAHJI

Hi guys! It’s snowing! 😦 I know! I am not a huge fan of the snow either! Usually I just go into hibernation mode, but today my sister managed to drag me out in it. Am I ever glad that she did!

We were doing a little thrifty shopping, when I came across a Hearts for Hearts doll. I’ve always wanted one of these dolls, but they’ve been discontinued, so I was thrilled to find one! She was $3.99. Of course, she needed a little bit of hair TLC, and she was barefoot, but still, I was so excited!

I brought her home, and I immediately got to work. The first order of business was to try to untangle the pearls from her hair. What a mess!

Turns out the pearls are actually a little headband. It was attached to her head with a tiny thread, so I cut it loose and I was able to deep condition her hair without it.

Once I got her hair sorted, I put her hairband back on.

Ohmygoodness! She is so cute! Look how long her hair is! It is also super soft and shiny. I seriously can’t get over how beautiful her hair is!!

Her hair is rooted rather than a wig, but it is incredibly dense. At first I couldn’t tell if it was rooted or a wig! I had to do some digging to figure it out. 🙂

She cleaned up so nicely! I just love her eyes too. They don’t close, but they are very beautiful.

After she was all cleaned up, we had to figure out what her name was. So I went online, and looked her up. Her name is Nahji. (pronounced nah-gee) We finally decided that her full name should be Leena Nahji. 🙂

She came in this pink tunic top with a purple pearl choker.

Her leggings are so cute! They have pretty gold accents at the hem.

She has a henna tattoo on her right hand! 🙂 ❤

She also has a diamond nose stud.

Her hair falls all the way down her back in nice waves. She is 14″ tall. I believe that’s about the same size as a Wellie Wisher doll? Her entire body is made of plastic too, just like the Wellie Wishers.

(I’ve been looking at listings for clothing for these dolls, and it appears that all of the clothes are made to fit both the Hearts 4 Hearts girls, and the Wellie Wishers so they are likely the same size.)

She is a perfect little sister doll! 🙂 I am just unsure of whose sister she would be. We don’t have any other dolls from India. Maybe we will have to find a pretty TLC Sonali? 🙂

LOVE! She is in perfect condition! Even her hair is back to brand new! 🙂

Now we just have to find some shoes for her. She is also missing her earrings.

      1. So I was reading that the older H4H dolls had a problem with their turning purple… so I think that I am going to save my money and buy a new one. I would hate to put the money out on eBay to have a purple-eyed doll☹️ I am currently selling off parts of doll collection to save for a new Nahji… then our dolls can be friends 😊

      2. Aw, I hope our doll’s eyes don’t turn purple. I have seen them though, the ones with the purple eyes. It’s so weird that they would do that. Our dolls can totally be friends!! 🙂

  1. If you are interested in getting some amazing patterns (free or purchased through Esty) for many different sized dolls go to jenwrenne.wordpress.com. You may have to read through her blog to find patterns for specific dolls but it will be time well spent as her patterns are really good. For a free boot pattern for your new H4H doll look Nov 2, 2012 or look under ‘hearts for hearts’ to find her shoe series – totally worth it.
Wellie Wishers are a bit larger so their clothes patterns will fit loosely. Also Corolle Les Cheries are a little smaller and thinner so their patterns may or may not fit if you do a pattern search for free patterns for them – feet are definitely not the same.

Congrats on finding treasure in your thrift shopping, enjoy your new doll.

  2. I love these dolls, too! I rarely find them in thrift stores. You really scored! They are half an inch shorter than the Wellie Wishers and a little narrower through the shoulders. Their limbs are slightly thinner as well, but overall they are close enough in size to share clothing pretty well. If anything, I would imagine the H4H clothing tops might be a bit snug on a WW (I don’t have any of those dolls). I’m so glad you found her and I hope you enjoy her!
