Hi guys! I have a fun feature for you all today! I know how much everyone is just in love with Miss Maryellen Larkin. Sadly, we do not have our own Maryellen, but we are hoping that Santa might bring her to us for Christmas this year. 🙂 (She’s at the top of the Little Miss list.)
Instead, we have our sweet Kit Kittredge filling in the part of Maryellen. She has been working at the Seaside Diner for Maryellen lately, so I thought, why not dress her for the part?
Hello everyone! Welcome to The Seaside Diner!
It’s been kind of slow today, so I have a minute. The only ones here are the twins, Laura and Clara.
Hey girls, how are your burgers?
They’ll be fine for a minute. I will just top up their water glasses.
Do you want to listen to some music? We just got this really cool jukebox in. It plays all the greatest hits!
What do you girls think? Nice right?
Alright, you two just holler if you need anything, okay?
Come on! I’ll give you a tour! We’ve even got a cute little gum ball machine for the kids.
So behind the counter here is where all the magic happens. Rebecca, our short order cook, isn’t here today, so I’m filling in. You can come around if you like.
Great! Okay, so basically, you take the customers order over here behind the counter. Then you can cook it over there!
This is our flat grill, and underneath is the dishwasher. I’m pretty much it for staff here today, but that’s okay. If I get too busy, I can just call Rebecca.
Sometimes I get orders for pickup. The diner doesn’t deliver, but people come in, and pick up food all the time.
I also have to do all of the dishes.
Good thing there’s a dishwasher!
We serve everything from burgers and fries to pizza and hotdogs.
We even serve pie! Mmmm…my favourite.
Key lime pie is on special today, but we also have pumpkin pie.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of the diner! I better get back to work now! It’s almost time to close up shop.
I better turn off the jukebox too!
Goodbye everybody!

Our pretty Maryellen is wearing a button down striped top with an adorable black skirt. We found this outfit on eBay. We thought it was perfect for Maryellen!
One thing that I just love about this top is that the buttons are real. There is no velcro to contend with! 🙂 It is also very well made, and fits the doll perfectly.
Her skirt is full with an elastic waist. It has a pretty satin ribbon trim. Her shoes are the MyLifeAs brand from Walmart.
We’ve always wanted a working jukebox for our diner! We found this on eBay as well! It lights up, and plays country music. LOL!
(Not exactly fifties retro, but still very cute!) ❤

Cute. Kit works well as a 50s girl. When you watch the old movies, some of the girls still wore the pageboy style cuts.
